HARLAN J. FISCHER, ChFC, CLU, RFC, CRC

As President of Branch Financial Services, Inc., Harlan has participated in the growth of one of Long Island’s most respected financial services organizations, located in Smithtown since 1974.

A graduate of Northeastern University, Harlan has received his Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) professional designations from the American College in 1983. He also holds the Registered Financial Consultant (RFC) and the Certified Retirement Counselor (CRC) designations.  He is a Registered Representative and Investment Advisor Representative of Walnut Street Securities, Inc.

Harlan has taught courses on investments and insurance, and has lectured nationally on these subjects as well as financial strategies and estate planning. He's been quoted in insurance and financial industry publications.

He is a member of the Practitioner Division of The Financial Planning Association and was the 1990–1991 President of the Suffolk County Chapter of the American Society of Financial Service Professionals. In June, 2000, Harlan received the Rudolf Stegeman "Total Professional Award" from the Suffolk Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors. This is the organization’s highest honor.

Harlan and his wife Olivia have lived in the Town of Smithtown since 1973. He was the President of the Board of Directors of the Smithtown Township Arts Council from 1992-1997 and was the 1997–1998 President of the Smithtown Rotary Club. Harlan served as Vice President of the Board of Trustees of the Suffolk County Vanderbilt Museum and Planetarium through 2000. Also, in the year 2000, Harlan was named Man of the Year in Business in Smithtown by the Times Beacon Record newspapers.  In April, 2006, Harlan was presented with the "Guardian Angel" award from the Little Shelter Animal Rescue and Adoption Center.  In May of 2006, Harlan was the recipient of the Walnut Street Securities prestigious "Distinguished Partner" award.  Harlan is the President Emeritus of the 200 member Metropolitan Contemporary Glass Group, and is the President of the Art Alliance for Contemporary Glass (www.contempglass.org).  Harlan also serves as the Chairman of the Planning Board of the Village of Head of the Harbor, NY.

Peter K. Gawreluk, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner, has been a member of the Branch Financial Services, Inc. team since 1999. Prior to joining Branch Financial Services, Inc., Peter had been with Ernst & Young LLP as a Senior Financial Planner in their Manhattan location. While there, Peter was involved with their National Tax Practice where he worked with a diverse population of financial planning clients throughout the country and abroad that were employed by such companies as Kimberly-Clark, IBM, Anheuser-Busch and Merck. Peter has over 20 years of professional experience in the financial services industry and holds a degree in Economics.  Peter is a registered representative, general securities principal, and investment advisor representative of Walnut Street Securities, Inc.

Peter resides in Shoreham with his wife Cristina and his children, Jack, Adam, and Lindsay.  When not working, Peter enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf, and fishing the waters off Long Island.

For fifteen years Frank has focused in Estate and Retirement Planning and Long Term Health Care, and has given numerous lectures and programs on these topics for Continuing Education Classes. 


Frank is a member of  the Suffolk County Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, a National Association of Financial Service Professionals. As the organizations past Chairman of Community Service, he worked closely with the Suffolk County Coalition for the Prevention of Alcohol and Drug Dependencies, educating young children on the perils of cigarette smoking, alcohol and drugs.

Frank served on the board at Trinity Lutheran Church in Islip for six  years and is past Chairman of the Board of Finance.

Frank and his wife Heidi have lived in Islip for more than forty years and have an adult son and daughter.  Their daughter Bandy recently married and son Frank lives at home.  Favorite pastimes are spending time with their children, the outdoors, and camping in their RV on the beaches of Long Island.
